on my weekend in pictures.

the weekend started off well - an amazing brunch in brooklyn, where every bite was more delicious than the last. i made this recipe for lamp chops on saturday night, before heading out for a grad school reunion at one of nyc's oldest bars before moving onto my favorite bar in the city. there was late night dancing and getting to hear a quintessential love story from a quintessential new york couple we met there, before heading home in the wee hours of the morning. sunday called for breakfast in bed and my favorite milkshake before finally seeing "the girl with the dragon tattoo".
not too bad. not too bad at all.

  1. Good times! Brunch is my favorite meal (after dessert, of course). There's something about having mimosas and bloody marys in the middle of the day that I love. Your meal looks delicious.

  2. I thought you were going to say that your weekend started well but ended badly but it looks like highs all round! Is that a toasted marshmallow in your milkshake? If so, I might just die!

  3. How was The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo? I'm dying to see it but Mike has no interest in it--and I'm afraid it's too scary to see by myself!

  4. meghan - it is a toasted marhsmellow, it's the best milkshake ever!

alana - i really liked it, and i've read the book. a few things are changed / left out, but all the acting, scenery, etc. is great. i recommend it, but it would be tough to see alone. definitely see it in the daytime!

and thanks for your comment on my 2012 post - searching for a job that fits is rough. But I'm glad we can both say that we now have jobs we like, or at least we're in the process of figuring that out!

  10. There isn't much I wouldn't do for a toasted marshmallow shake, but for a stiff version? Where do I sign up?

  12. You've just helped me add like 3 new NYC places to my "NYC list!" I have been DYING to try the Toasted Marshmellow Shake at Stand for a while now... since I won't be going to NYC in the near future, guess I'll just have to make it myself at home :) Happy New Year!
