on italy - the sights.

we arrived in our little beach town of sestri levante in mid-afternoon on sunday, and within a couple of hours we were all ready to make a pact to come back. when i pictured this trip i hoped for the best: sleepy days by the beach, long dinners filled with food, wine and laughter, lemon trees and roses everywhere. and it was all of that and more - dare i say, it's probably the best vacation i have ever been on. these photos detail the surrounding grounds of the apartment we stayed at, the beach where we lazed the day away, and the surrounding hills and houses we wandered through if the mood struck us. i feel so lucky that i was able to experience such an amazing week in a tiny town i would never have discovered but for the wedding invite, yet perhaps in a town with a body of water called the "bay of fairy tales", i should have known it would be all i wanted and more.

  1. I am dying.

It's all so heavenly. I just love it all.

The Bay of Fairytales? Gah I cant take it. Want to go NEEEED to go someday somehow.

It kind of makes me sad sometimes how many amazing places there are in this world and how it's probably pretty unlikely how many I will actually see in real life. I guess I just have to be thankful for the ones I do get to see. Because some people don't ever leave their home to travel at all.

But this post has me wanderlusting that is FOR SURE.

    LOVED IT.

    1. I so agree with you - so many places I can't get to (or wil ever know about!) but of those I can I just have to appreciate and drink it in, each and every one. i still feel lucky that I got to live in Nashville and discover that city - every place really has something to reward you. and yes, once again, my wanderlust is back in full force. what a world we live in!

  4. It does look like a fairy tale and your pictures more than do it justice. I think. I guess I've never been there but after seeing your pictures I'm more than ready to go. It is so hard to believe that little slices of heaven like that exist. It kind of makes me deliriously happy.

  5. These pictures are beautiful! I'm so glad that you had a wonderful time - and even a favorite vacation - that's awesome! You look amazing in all of these pictures, as usual! My favorites of these sights are the ones with the mountains and the fields and the little tiny buildings - exactly how I picture little towns in Italy to look. I hope there are more stories and pictures to come!

p.s. I hope you're settling back into reality okay too... kind of a bummer to come back to work after a week by the bay of fairy tales, I'm sure
