on my weekend in pictures.

this weekend was wonderful up here in the northeast - because it was a blizzard weekend! my favorite! while i'm sure many don't feel my sentiment, when you don't have a car and can pop around the corner for milk or eggs it's really not too bad. on friday we headed to a concert at madison square garden, and while we were a little unsure about venturing out we were so glad we did. we spent a few hours at a local bar before heading to the concert, which was half empty, and taking some really awesome seats that weren't ours. on the way home we clearly, as you can see below, got to play in the snow. i was so excited to share the experience of being in a big city when there's a blizzard with brian. it's quiet, there are no cars on the road, everything is covered in white, you can walk down the middle of broadway if you want. it is seriously the coolest. yes, it turns nasty the next day and gets plowed and it's slushy - but, it's totally worth it. the rest of the weekend was spent keeping warm, checking out the snowmen others built, making cookies and drinking hot chocolate. like i said, i love blizzard weekends - they are the best.

  4. your blizzard weekend sounds like so much fun! especially trudging through the middle of the street in the snow and a hot cocoa date. snow would be so much more manageable in my mind if we didn't have to drive places, so i can see why you like it. I'm glad you stayed safe!

  5. I'm glad you actually enjoyed the blizzard! When I lived in Boston I always loooved when it snowed. Like you said, you could still walk to get essentials, but the city was so quiet. It was always a welcome change!

  6. The novelty of snow still hasn't worn off for me, and you are right, there is nothing quite like a snow storm in the middle of the city. Probably the only time you can walk in the road and that it is actually quiet!

  7. Yay! The blizzard was fun. Makes you love not having a car, right? I only wish it had been during the week, so we could have possibly had a free snow day :(

  9. Der. Just saw the first comment. But I still think they're owls SO THERE. Or maybe bunnies. Could be squirrels. This will probably keep me up at night.

    1. haha - you can call them owls. we weren't quite sure what they were but we knew they were definitely cute! and the hot chocolate is from city bakery - I strongly recommend you visit if you come to nyc. it is so amazing. and get a marhshmellow in your hot chocolate when you order (of course!)
